About This Notification

The notification saying “__ is sharing their location” means that the person is using Yolni to let you know where they are.

This is sent when they perform the following actions on their device:

  1. Pull the pin
  2. Press the button

When these two actions are done in order, location sharing starts with the registered contacts.

What to Do First When You Receive It

1. Check the location

You’ll see their location on the map.

2. Contact them

Try to reach them as soon as possible by phone or LINE. A simple “Are you okay?” is enough to check on their safety.

3. Decide what to do next based on the situation

If you can reach them:

If they say they’re okay, you don’t need to take any further action. If they want to stop sharing, tell them to “put the pin back.” Once the pin is returned, location sharing stops.

If you can’t reach them:

Wait a short while and try contacting them again. If you still can’t reach them, or if you’re worried about the situation, contact the police (110 in Japan) or another emergency service.
